For 25 years, the production and study of microorganisms has been our specialty. ARTECHNO has more than 20 m³ of simultaneous fermentation capacity, drying equipment (freeze-drying and atomization) but also a team of scientists and a laboratory available for research and development projects.
Our origins and our group
Founded in 1999 by Professor Philippe Thonart, ARTECHNO was originally a spin-off of the Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech University (ULiège). ARTECHNO has become an independent family business that now has around twenty people. We work in synergy with specialized companies to offer innovative solutions.

Our strategy and partnerships
Artechno develops solutions that respect the environment, in collaboration with institutions such as Gembloux Agro Bio Tech and University of Liège. We are also members of the clusters WAGRALIM and GREENWIN, placing us at the forefront of innovation in the agri-food and environmental sectors.
Our production process
1. Selection and development : We choose strains for their activity and stability, giving priority to sporulating bacteria for their robustness and their proven benefits.
2. Fermentation : The strains are grown in bioreactors to achieve the desired quality, before harvesting the biomass or the active ingredients.
3. Drying : The bacteria are dried by atomization, producing a concentrated powder containing up to 500 billion spores per gram. Sensitive microorganisms are freeze-dried.
4. Formulation : Concentrated crops are integrated into specific products, sometimes combined with plant extracts or prebiotics to improve their effectiveness.
